I posted this question on another thread, but wanted to see what Einstein ppl think...

If my parents' combined income is around $100,000, is it likely Einstein will give me any institutional grants/loans? Up until now, I figured I wouldn't qualify for those, and was thinking of just getting federal loans...so i didn't bother putting in my parents' info on my FAFSA...

just wondering if it's worth the trouble going back and adding the parental info...

anyone out there know how generous Einstein is with their financial aid packages???

I was told my FA package fromthem would be mailed to me this week. I'll let you know if I receive anything worth mentioning since my parents are in the same income bracket as yours.

hey DK, thanks for the post.
in order to be considered for institutional support from Einstein, do you have to fill out that other form besides the FAFSA? i think it's called the college student review something...

so just filling out the parental info on the FAFSA isn't going to get me anything more than federal loans, huh? (for Einstein at least)

as always, thanks for the info...

From what I gathered from the Einstein packet they sent, you must complete the FAFSA for federal loans. Then you have to complete the CSS (College Student Survey) for institutional loans/grants. I also had to send my tax forms and my parents. Once AE receives all of the info, they start to compile your FA package. I called to check if all of my materials had been received and they told me that tuition would be set last Friday and packages would be mailed accordingly if you had mailed all of you info to them.

I had already completed my FAFSA with my parent's info, but still had to complete the CSS. Be careful though, the online version of CSS is not like FAFSA, there is not overriding key that will allow you to enter your parent's info, so you're better off doing the paper version.

Good luck 🙂

thanks for the quick response, Dr. Kermit.

the reason i ask is cuz my parents filed for tax extension... so they won't have their info till much later...

argh! why do they make us fill out that other form!!! the other schools only ask for the FAFSA...

anyway, thanks for your help...
and, yes, please do let me know about your FA package when you find out...

thanks again...

Yunfat and Dr. Kermit,
For the CSS/Financial Aid Profile, do we fill in our parent's information if we answered yes to the various questions (I answered 4 out of 6). I know that we send our parents' tax information to Einstein but wanted to check before filling out.
Thanks,
Droopy

I called Mr. Greenberg in the FA office and he said you are to complete it regardless of your independency and financial status. I hope that helps you out!

Thanks Dr. K, always coming through with the Einstein info.
