hey folks,

is it even worth it depositing a non-refundable $100 to einstein housing right now to get access to the waitlist for the apts? I'd do it if it means i have a good shot at a single as a MS1. However, i heard that few get singles. this true? if so, i wouldn't want to dish out $100 til i'm absolutely sure i'm matriculating.

From my recollection of Housing last year, the $100 deposit is to ensure that you get housing at Einstein, not to be placed on a waiting list for a studio. You're only guaranteed a studio if you're a MSTP student or you're married. Once Einstein sends you housing info, you send them $100 and they start placing you in housing. I think you get to choose whether you would like one roommate or two, but other than that, the waitlist for studios starts after the housing freeze (usually the start of school.)
