Does anyone know anything about Einstein that I can't find in the MSAR? For instance, is it in a bad neighborhood? This there a good student life?

If you checkout Einsteins website, you will find a lot of information about the surrounding neighborhood. It is one of the most informative med school sites I've seen. So just go to www.aecom.yu.edu and browse around. I'm sure you'll find what your looking for.
