I'm nearing the end of my interview trail and I'm trying to compare Emory and UT-Southwestern. I'm very confused, sorry below seems like flight of ideas.

They both seem like great programs. The first obvious difference is class size, Emory having 9 residents and UTSW 18. More residents can be a great plus for better coverage etc, but the volume at UTSW is so crazy I wonder if this matters. Some residents said they have many rotations which they only work 60 hours...do u think this is true? They don't take 24 hour call unless they are on a Medicine rotation. They are very OB heavy, weaker on Gyn, perhaps Emory is a better balance? Also, I may be interested in REI fellowship and UTSW said they don't get much REI experience, not many residents go into REI. Emory has this great new Reproductive center and had more going into it. Somethings I found strange at UTSW - on L and D they have labor rooms without beds that breakdown, so u push in there and then have to wheel everyone to delivery rooms...won't this get crazy with the volume? And they don't have their fetal monitoring on monitors, only paper strips...so u can't watch on monitors in other rooms...

Atlanta vs Dallas? What are your thoughts on comparing living in these two cities?
