The year before college, I took an English class at a community college. Subsequently, I took a class in college that satisfied the reading/composition requirement for my college, which I assume also satisfies half of the English requirement for med schools like UCLA. Originally, I thought the English class I took at the community college would count as the other half of the English requirement, but the class shows up on my college transcript just like my other college classes, with a small annotation that it was taken at a community college. Does anyone know whether this means I've completed the English requirement? Or, will I have to take another English class to complete the requirement?

When you apply to med school, you have to submit every transcript from every school you took college courses at. So you will submit a transcript from your home institution as well as a transcript from your community college. You might still want to double check that the CC English course qualifies for the requirements, but it should be fine.
