?No!

No! The Russians are good friends of Spaniards. Together, we will utilize the threads of thread of the elitist one! I am seeking other Spaniards. The only way to find Spaniards is doing the posts in Spanish that you cannot read!

LOL  I'll take that as a "Yes"

    to try: Tratar

Hola amigos!

Sorprendido quiere decir "surprised or amazed" en Ingles.

I think I have to agree with that (and what SpittingCamel said above). My sis did parts of years 3 & 4 in Texas and was used like crazy because she was fluent. She talked about patients who thought she was the doc because she was the only "doc" they could understand. Supposidly, she even had a kid named after her.

Oh ya, as for hilos and thread... My spanish sux... I admit it.
I used this as I can only get the gist of what is being said :( ...http://ets.freetranslation.com/
It doesn't seem to be as good as one would hope.

It translated Adapt's "hola chicos." into "hello small."

 Actually I think those translators usually do work well. The problem is we can't write accents and most of what we say requires accents.

Without the accents it messes up the whole meaning and the translator can't translate correctly. I never realized the importance of accent marks until learning Spanish.

Haz clic 'Date, Time, Language and Regional Options'
    'Regional and Language Options'
    'Languages'
    'Text Services and Input Options'
    'Details'
    'Add'
    Spanish-Internations Sort
Keyboard - United States - International

No that didn't really work...usually colloquial phrases and stuff are what mess up the most I think.
I would probably say something like "?Es que soy chulo si puedo hablar el espa?ol? ?Parece que toda la gente lo hace!

First: You gotta see the pic to know what Trama Junky is talking about. It was stupid until I saw the pic.

Second: CalBeE, I'm not totally sure, but I think Spitting Camel is calling us "gunners"

Third: (re CalBeE's try) IMHO, "chulos" like to drink "fresca". No?

fourth: Speaking of a?o, I remeber a story one of my spanish teachers said about a guy who stayed with a family in mexico. Everybody loved him, but when it was time to leave, he made a slight mistake. I don't remember the words he used, but when he tried to ask if he could take a picture with their little daughter (3 years old or something), it came out as can I take a picture with your daughter in the nude. He didn't understand what happened, as he had simply asked for a picture. It wasn't until later that someone told him what he had said.

I looooooove speaking Spanish with patients here in Texas...I can't imagine what it's like to be sick and not be able to communicate. I wish there were more people around who could speak Korean, Hindi, or Farsi here in Austin. We do what we can, though :) What's funny though is that because I don't 'look' Latina (I'm about an eighth maybe - learned Spn in high school), a lot of patients assume I don't speak Spanish, so they say whatever they want to in front of me. I feel like I'm eavesdropping!!! I try to avoid that situation, because once I had a hard time keeping a straight face and had to excuse myself. Now I try to do something right up front to give myself away :) The Vietnamese ladies at the nail salon are still safe from me, though!!!
