Hey guys -- quick question...is it worth applying to UCSF as an out of stater? I think I have good numbers and solid volunteer experiences but not much application money

Crimson, I'm an out of stater who was offered and interview at UCSF. My GPA was a 3.4 and 23/20 on the DAT if you'd like to use me as a frame of reference. You can also check the stats page to see what people looked like who interviewed/were accepted there.

Hey guys... I was on the UCSF financial aid webpage and every student who enters the school has to go through an "entrance interview" at the fin aid office. The date for dental students is Wed. Aug. 28th... I don't know if it's a group session or if we have to make individual appointments...? I'm sure we'll get more info on it when we get our fin aid packets.

just wanted to let u know that i also recieved the white coat ceremony letter last thurs. they said that we have till July 15th to let them know if we're gonna go or not...I probably got the letter early b/c i live right across the bay so you guys should get the letter sometime this week. hope this update helps.

Hey guys... i just got my financial aid letter today. It doesn't say much... just how much I got in loans, etc. But all of the money is held off until I attend that fin aid orientation... just thought i'd let you guys know. And by the way, i still haven't received my white coat ceremony invitation! hehe.

A fourth-year student did mention about camping for the incoming 1st year students. I heard that the second year students will take us camping in Redwood city. I'm not sure if this event will still take place b/c I haven't heard any more about it.

There isn't a direct number to call in about the white coat ceremony. But there's this phone number on the left corner of the invitation letter that you can try. It's 415-476-1323. I hope this helps.

Lin: just call Barbra...i'm sure she'll be able to take care of things for you. but basically, the rsvp form just asked for your name/address, your coat size (order one size larger than normal), and the names/addresses of your 2 guests.

hey lin: they want you to order one size larger to accommodate the clothing you'll have under the coat--i'm guessing they're thinking about the winter sweaters and such~

yeah your id and password was sent along with the "immunization"packet that they sent you about 2 months ago. Did u recieved that packet...if so i'm pretty sure you'll find it in there if you look in it again. Ok. Hope that helps.

Sue, ucsf sent us an immunization packet in late may... it had a couple forms we needed to fill out by july 1st (oops!) and it gave us a user id and password, along with a website address where we can log on and change our address, etc... i think you can download the imm. forms off of the ucsf health center website. But as far as the change of address, i would call the registrar's office and ask them to issue you one.
Hey hazel, when i tried to go on to change my address awhile ago, it didnt work. So called the registrar's office and told them that i tried to do it many times on the computer and it wouldn't work... so they let me change it over the phone. Hope that helps!

i have a question--are we supposed to register by mail before getting our financial aid checks with a voucher or are we supposed to register together during orientation when we get our financial aid checks at the financial aid interview?? i'm a bit confused on how this process works. anyone have insight on this?

just wondering, who is bringing a car to SF? just to let you know that if you want to park on the street, you have to get a permit from the city... and you have to show them that your registration with the DMV has your SF address on it and also show them a lease agreement with your address on it... if anyone is bringin their car, please let me know cuz i have questions to ask about it.. thanks

I have met a few second year students who are planning our treat that will take place on August 24-25th. THey are still planning it so we won't hear from them for another week or two. I think it will be a great experience, so i will see you some of you soon.

Hey guys.. i just got back from l.a. today, and i had so much mail from ucsf... like 5 envelopes! Anyway, i'm also confused about the registration form... do we fill it out and turn it in? B/c if so, I have no idea what to put for the amount I'm supposed to send in for registration (is that based on our fin aid?). I thought I read somewhere that we would register the day of orientation on aug 28th, but now i can't find it
