So, this is one I could never wrap my head around. How does topical magnesium sulfate (Epsom salt) or saturated solutions of mag salts (Magnesium Oil) help with muscle and joint soreness/ache. It's obvious that Mg++ is an important ion of in the muscle and nervous function but how do you expect the cation to penetrate the stratum corneum to any measurable effect? Epsom salt solutions feel slippery so I'm on the train that it's just a placebo effect and the hot water doing all the effect. What's your opinion?
