I've already submitted my ERAS application and applied to all my schools. Still getting my LORs validated and my PS edited. Aside from the individual school application deadlines, is there any specific time that I should have this stuff in by?

ASAP. Definitely before the MSPE drops.

Ok, thanks. Will try and get it in soon. Just so painful to write this damn thing. (The PS).

Wait, you can submit your ERAS applications without L O Rs and the PS? I am confused...

There's your ERAS "application," your LORs, your PS, your photo, your USMLE transcript, your school transcript, and come Nov 1st, your MSPE. These documents are all uploaded and then designated (some automatically) to the programs you pay to apply to.

Earliest deadline I've ever seen is October 1st. Even then, you just need one letter (+ everything else besides the MSPE) to be complete. You've got time.

Where do you guys see the deadlines? I can't seem to find any.

Individual program websites. Google is a great thing my friend.

I was actually hoping someone could be more insightful- as the deadlines on program websites are application deadlines and not LOR deadlines. My dean responded, and apparently there actually aren't LOR deadlines which is why you can't find them. Obviously, the sooner you get them in the better.

Your entire "application" includes LoR...so in essence where you see the application deadline = LoR deadline.

Correct. Occasionally/rarely a program with an early "deadline" (UCSF OBGYN comes to mind) will specify that they'll count an application complete with everything and 1 letter by October 1st. Otherwise I think the November 1st deadline is pretty much a universal one to get EVERYTHING (including your LORs) in.

You're certainly welcome to try and submit them after if you insist, but it certainly isn't recommended.

December 1 and/or December 15 are also common deadlines.

Note that you can always add a 4th LOR after those dates, or release a new USMLE score. The deadline is usually to have a minimally complete application in, and the last day where interviews are assigned / processed from.
