What are essential study guides that you guys used in your first year of medical school? Thank you so much

"First Aid for the USMLE" is a popular review series. It cover essentially the same info you need for the COMLEX, minus OMM of course.

A couple suggestions - completely opinion and also might vary by curriculum - we have PBL, so we start path and pharm during 1st year.

-First Aid - check the back of 1st aid - it reviews review books for all subjects

-BRS Gross Anatomy

-Review Questions for Gross Anatomy and Embryology

-Instant Anatomy

-Rapid Review Path

-Pharmacology Exam and Board Review - Katzung and Trevor

-Lippincott Biochemistry

-Costanzo Physiology

-Lily Pathophysiology of Heart disease is good for cardio

Just a word of caution: Don't try to learn the material from First Aid. It's a great book for review, but only AFTER you have covered the material. I keep a copy handy in the bathroom now. It's much better reading than Reader's Digest 🙂

Microbiology made ridiculously simple = an excellent micro book. Better than my prof.
