Hi, I am wondering what the real deal is like. Is the exam handed out as a whole booklet with all the PS, VR, WS and RS sections in it, and we return them after each section? Or they are separate booklets? Do we write the writing sample using a pencil or a ball-point pen?

Thanks!! And good luck!! 🙂

In the "real deal", each section of the test is a separate booklet. You also get a separate answer sheet for each section. The writing section is a small test book and a small essay book.

For each section - PS, VR, WS, and BS you will get the test booklet for that section only and an answer sheet (or essay book). Once you're done with each section, it's taken-up and you'll never see it again. The test books are single-use and you can scribble whatever you like on them in the margins (I don't know if I'd draw funny pictures, though, because you'll sign your booklet also) - there is no scratch paper provided.

The essay is supposed to be in black ink - ball point or felt tip or whatever is up to you (I've heard of some centers insisting on ball point, but I prefer a hard-tip felt and nobody said anything).

Good luck!
