I'm studying with the examkrackers content books and I was wondering if people found it helpful to take notes or just read through the material.

People have different methods of studying...so whichever works best for you, you're the only one who knows..

i'm using the 6th edition and only take notes on the MCAT syllabus material that i'm not as comfortable in. And, I do lots of pratice to reinforce what I know, think i know, think i should know, know that i don't know....etc haha 🙂

For each chapter I read through once, made note cards on the important information the second time through (while doing the problems at the end of each section), and then took the 30-minute exam in the back of the book. I'm not saying this is what you should do, but the note cards worked really well for me because they allowed me to review important concepts again and again without having to go back and read through the chapters. If I had to do it over again, I wouldn't change a thing.

Don't you follow the EK suggested home study schedule?

I've developped my own method of studying with the EK 6th edition complete study package whereby I don't particularly read the chapters at all but instead I write down notes of what I think I already know and then try to find passages in the book that support and reaffirm my understanding of the material. Now I'm not saying you should do this..but I see a 37+ in my future, to each his own.

I'm still getting only 8 and 9's and the EK bio lecture exams which i take right after taking notes on each lecture. I guess cause they're supposed to be the "harder" questions.

that's pretty good. ek tests are tough in the text. just as a word of advice, i have found the pr cracking the mcat book an excellent supplement to ek. it is for those who need to brush up on some of the details that ek might evade. The pr has helped me tremendously in the 1001 and 101 books. best wishes.
