Examkrackers Verbal - First time test-taker

I took my first test today from the Examkrackers Verbal 101 Book. I randomly picked a test to do (I took test 8) and my score was 37/60 = VR: 8

8 is no where near good enough. I need at least 12 on this section.

I didn't use any real strategy, I just answered the questions.

Does anyone have any recommendations/advice? Should I purchased the EK Verbal Strategy book?

I didn't find any useful information other than other people's scores.

Well as you could see, an 8 for your first test is pretty good. The population of SDN is well above average. I wouldn't worry too much, and if you are buy the verbal strategy book.
