Hello everyone!
First of all, congrats to those who's been accepted, good luck to the new applicants, and, those, who hasn't gotten into a veterinary school (yet) - DO NOT LOSE YOUR HOPE (if I, with a 3.0 gpa and bad gre scores was able to get in, then you will too!).
I would like to hear your thoughts on this: I'm trying to decide between WSU (Logan campus, which does not offer the residency) and SGU. Many people would say and do say: "it's a no-brainer - go to WSU, because it has a good reputation, and it's in the US, etc". When I went to Pullman for an interview, I fell in love with the school and its culture of students supporting each other. I also had a very pleasant experience with SGU during application/interview process. Unfortunately, the island schools are believed to be not as prestigious as the schools in the US, however, my personal belief is that if you are passionate and work hard, no matter which school you go to, you will become a good doctor. Also, my favorite/role model resident at the animal hospital I work at, happens to be a graduate from SGU!
Tuition fees (TOTAL): SGU: $190,000 , WSU: $246,000 ($56,000 more in loans ). I am planning to do an internship, so my concern is that probably most hospitals would rather choose a WSU grad...
Thank you!
