Is there anyone who skipped out on taking the USMLE step 1 and just took the USMLE Step 2? If so, would doing well on Step 2 without taking the Step 1 help with entrance into allopathic residencies?

Thanks.

You have to have passed USMLE Step 1 to register for USMLE Step 2, so forget it.

No. You don't need to take USMLE 1 before taking Step 2 as a DO.

Any other osteopathic med student or current resident with USMLE 2 ONLY experience?

Don't you love it when people give advice that's blatantly wrong. 🙄

I took step 2 USMLE without taking Step 1 Usmle. I got 99/250 step 2 and a 99% Comlex 1. I applied to 13 Allopathic EM programs. Prior to them uploading my step 2 score only 1 allopathic interview, however after they uploaded:
IM/EM:
Allegheny
Christiana Care

EM
Resurrection
UIC
LSU Baton Rouge
LSU Shreveport
UT Southwest
Washington U

;and still waiting on 5 other programs to respond (no rejections yet)
