What type of EC's do people generally do DURING dental school?

intramural sports, service organizations (SNDA is a big one), some people will do research during the 3rd year, and sometimes people will assist 3rd and 4th years in the clinics. There are really alot of stuff you can do, and definitely participate in volunteer events if you get an opportunity.

At UB there is every kind of committee you can think of....community service, event planning, economic, grants, research, ASDA....more committees than they can fill with people. 😉 I'm in a community chorus that's unrelated to my school...I know that some people play sports together (again, not with the school) and that sort of thing. It may help you get your mind out of dentistry to do something a little different. But if you want to stay within the academic world, there will be tons to do. Just choose wisely....nothing is worth getting behind in your work, so just choose one or a few things that you'll really enjoy.
