Okay well this is the deal... I am a junior forensic science major minoring in chemistry & spanish (also possibly religious studies)... i happen to slack off in the second half of gen. bio and got the forementioned grade.. all my other grades are stellar, i volunteer @ MCV hospital in the ER XRAY & the national center for missing and exploited children.. i have one internship under my belt and a couple grad courses i took that i did pretty well in... THE POINT IS...do you think my chances are pretty much shot for middle schools like EVMS or Case Western or can i BS a good reason for my poor choice????

One thing you must learn about applying to med school is that it is a total crapshoot.

Sure, there are things you can do to make yourself more attractive, but one F grade is not going to scr*w your chances of getting in to school. DEFINATELY retake the class and do your best.

You'll be fine. 😀

Good luck!

ok, didn't mean to quote your signature as well...you definitely need to retake the course and show commitment to doing well. if you do so, then i think you'll be fine with getting into medschool. now about the BS'ing about the grade? i think you should be honest about the situation...at the same time, show the admissions committee how you're using that to determine yourself even further to excel even more. don't know about BS'ing but i'm sure many people do it...

good luck.
