If I'm aiming for PP, does it matter where I do my cardiac fellowship?

If so, why?

Which ones are known to be better than the others?

I'm not fellowed, but from within my own program I found it pretty easy to get a job in the area. People know people, and even though it's a large metropolitan area it is a fairly small anesthesia community. If you have any programs by where you want to end up I'd say that's a good bet so long as they're reasonably strong. If nothing else you will save the hassle of interviewing cross country.

If you become boarded in perioperative TEE, it doesn't matter where you went. If you fail your echo exam, it probably doesn't matter either because you won't have what the groups are looking for.
