I noticed the first date is California on March 1. Is that the due date, or the first date to send it in? I don't really get this whole process. Is there a site someone could refer me to? Thanks.

It's always better to file FAFSA as early as possible.

I think the priority deadline is March 2nd. In other words, if you do not file the FAFSA before March 2nd you won't be eligible for as much money. I remember reading something that said you may only get 25% of what you "deserve."

Yeah, from what I understand, you need to go ahead and do it now. Also, I know that some schools have deadlines that are different from the deadline posted for that particular state, so you might want to contact the fin. aid office..
