Hey all - I've been accepted to a school that I am almost positive I am going to attend. I just recently, however, was granted an interview at another comparable school which I would consider if my experience at the interview goes well.

I am in the process of filling out the FAFSA - I want to submit it now rather than wait- should I put both school's codes on the FAFSA? Or should I just enter the school I plan on attending, and add the other school (the one I have the interview pending at) at a later date, if I decide that I am interested in that school?

I guess what I'm wondering is - could my adding the 2nd school affect the way my aid is given by the school I plan on attending?

Thanks!

I put all schools that hadn't actually rejected me yet on my FAFSA. I didn't think about other schools seeing it - perhaps it might push them to give you a more competitive FA package.

Thanks for the info - actually, that's a good point about pushing them to give a better package. I guess it could go either way, or it could not affect them at all. Yeah, I'll just go ahead and do both schools. Thanks again!

Wait a minute! Schools see what other schools are listed?

I don't know, princessd3. It was a 'perhaps' kind of response. If they DO see it, it might be beneficial. If they don't, it's a non-issue.

This is me speculating. Financial aid and Admissions department are separate. You'll get a "number cruncher" taking care of the FAFSA application and an ADCOM taking care of your admissions. Even if the two departments interacted, you're a tiny fish in a really big pond. Bottom link, they don't give a crap.

The SAR I printed and mailed in did not list all of my schools. So I don't think the other schools know. I have been told that you can use an official offer at one school to get more money at another school. You just have to have the offer in writing as proof.
