Sorry to hear about your situation. I can only answer #5, but at my school they show us the Dean's Letter and it does mention our Step1 score. It might mention Step2 scores if they came back before they are finalized, but my impression is that while the Dean's Letter is meant to be objective overview of your performance, they don't want to make you look bad either. You could ask to see your dean's letter.

Most interviews are offered before December. I don't think it will affect your interviews, but certain schools do require step2ck for ranking.

No. I don't think so. Many programs don't require Step2CK for interviews, provided your step 1 score is good. Obviously having a killer Step2 would be awesome, but it's not unusual for people to not have step2 completed before sending their apps. Some schools (California) want Step2 before ranking.

Failing if failing; no one to change it/cover it up.

It will be seen/come out. Soon enough; if not by getting interviews definitely in the rank list (or them not ranking you)

I am sorry for your score, at interviews I do not think I would lend the info, but if asked, I think you have to be truthful, because if you lie and they asked the question, I think it is troublesome. However, you must be one heck of a candidate to have snagged 15 interviews already. Best of luck.

as some said, it's not something you can just cover up and pretend it didn't happen. they will notice it. how did you do on your step 1?

Study for it as hard as you can and practice the timing if that was your issue, re-take it as soon as possible and get a good score. If they ask about it in the interviews you say the truth and come up with a good reason why you failed it. Actually it's better if they ask about it and you clear it up than them noticing it when they're doing the rank list.
There's no magic solution to this. Try to make the best out of a ****ty situation. Sorry man

I'm not teasing what everyone said to this point. Because I don't care.

I need to know if you allowed your score to be released when you filled out your eras application or not.

    Yes. Or no. ???

    Hey Pizzamaster,
As I read residency requirement, I think you must take and pass step 2 before you begin your residency but nowhere does it say you have to have it completed while interviewing. So if you take it in Dec, and find out your results 3 weeks later in January, you should be OK

Let me edit what I said above: I went to one residency site and it said that anyone who failed a USLME exam will not be considered for an interview. However, I think that was program specific, not all are the same. You may have to check this out further. Best of luck.
