Fall or fall; Winter or winter?

When you say I tutored during the winter 2000, winter is not capitalized, right? I just want to be sure I'm capitalizing right.
 
If you are referring to winter as a season or approximate time frame, I would not capitalize it. If you are using Fall or Winter as designations of semesters (or quarters) I would capitalize them.

Of course, you also have an option to state it as Winter 2000.
