Family and Med School at SGU

I am curious if anyone has gone to a Caribbean while you spouse and kids stayed in the states due to their career. Is it possible to do and stay married? I know it will be difficult but we can have them come out for a few weeks here and there and me going home on breaks. Along with skype I need to make it work. Has anyone else had success with their family staying behind for a couple years?

No personal experience, but a lot of people down here are married since we have a large number of non-traditional students. Many people bring their spouses down with them, as well. There is a very active Significant Others (SO) group. I'm sure it's difficult, but lots of people manage to make it work. They'll likely see even less of you during your residency.
