Family life as a doctor

  1. It seems that there are a lot of "non-traditional" students going to med school, meaning that more and more student doctors and residents have families to consider. I would appreciate some insights concerned with the family life of a person who makes the commitment to pursue medicine as a career. What can you do to juggle a career that can take up so much time and energy and have a successful family/marriage? Thank You.

Select your specialty carefully. If you want a life, consider derm, rehab or psych. If you want a divorce, enter surgery or OB/GYN.
