Family practice opportunity in rural western Virginia. No OB. Great area for outdoor lovers. Skiing, hiking, Appalachian Trail! Qualifies for J-1 H1 visa holders. New office building. Easy drive to Virginia Tech Campus for sports, arts. Western Virginia bordered by Kentucky, Tennessee, and West Virginia. Modern, well equipped and staffed, 134 licensed bed acute care hospital, located in the mountains of southwestern Virginia. The facility is a debt free, not-for-profit, community, stand alone hospital, which is governed by a local board of directors. The only hospital in the County, with the nearest competitor about 40 miles away. The primary market area census is 25,000, with an additional 20,000 in the secondary market. The hospital has recently upgraded to a 64 slice CT Scanner with PACS. We also have mobile MRI here three days per week. The hospital owns two modern on campus medical office buildings as well as two off site facilities. There are currently 10 primary care physicians. The medical staff physicians include Family Practice, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Radiology, Pulmonology, General Surgery, Otolaryngology, Pathology, and Sleep Studies. The area is the home of the A College of Pharmacy, and the A School of Law. The community is somewhat rural; a quiet, safe place to live and raise children. We have excellent public and private schools, as well as many colleges and universities nearby, including Virginia Tech, University of Kentucky, East Tennessee State University, and the University of Tennessee. The town is currently undergoing a multi-million dollar transformation by the Army Corps of Engineers and the Virginia Department of Transportation. Competitive. Good benefits. An employment agreement would include the following: • A competitive salary to be negotiated with the Hospital • Production is not tied to the salary as in most places. •Bonus opportunity with Relative Value Units (RVU's) • Signing bonus •Relocation expenses • Paid malpractice insurance premium • Employee benefits, life, health, and short term disability insurance (employee cost) Hospital pays for long term disability. • 401(k) retirement plan • Modern office and equipment, staff, and office supplies. • 30 days paid time off annually •Limited emergency call coverage • 134 licensed bed, not-for-profit, community hospital, debt free, and with significant reserves. • Other ancillary paid expenses • Pleasant work and living environment.
