For the Air Force HPSP student getting a residency in Family Practice should not be too bad straight out of med school, correct?

If said student was then also interested in a Sports Medicine fellowship you could apply and do it straight through or wait till after your 4 years were up in the military then apply?

How competitive is applying for the Sports Med fellowship for FP docs in the AF? And how hard is it to apply for a fellowship like that after 4 years of working as a doc?

Thank you for your time and advice! :)

Can't speak for AF specifically, but Army and Navy usually make you do at least 2 years as a straight FP prior to fellowship. They are often competitive, but it depends on the year.

Is Pendelton the only option for squids, or can we apply to the program in Bethesda as well?
