i was just curious if it's feasible to work in a public school setting after getting a M.A./M.S. in Mental Health Counseling? I know that as an LMHC/LPC you can, but I'm not sure about after graduation. The reason I ask is b/c I would like to find a job after graduation, counting for my licensure hours, that would help me in not burning out. I feel a school setting type job would do that. I heard that I can get a job at a university mental health center, but the public school setting seems more appealing to me. If anyone knows anything about this let me know. Thanks

Community mental health centers are a good option, as the majority of positions are for MA/MS level practitioners. University counseling centers tend to be for doctoral level practitioners (and a good internship/post-doc option).
