    Hi everyone!

If anyone is interested in doing a fellowship and/or is familiar about fellowship and the type of work fellows do during training and post training, please share your information.

How is a career path of a fellow different from that of a resident besides outcome research vs. clinical rounds/projects?

    Eager to hear from everyone!

There are many fellowship programs out there, and they can differ dramatically. They often, but not always, are affiliated with an academic institution as well as a pharmaceutical company. They may or may not offer academic component, such as teaching. They may or may not offer opportunity to publish a paper. They may or may not involve independent research.

Generally, the purpose of the fellowship is to prepare the fellow for a specific job function, while the purpose of the residency is to improve the resident's knowledge of the pharmacotherapy as the broad category.
