Hi,
I am currently filling out SGU application and I have few questions that I was wondering if someone can help me answer. First of all, the application have an optional essay in which it asks "If you feel that your academic record and/or background is somewhat unusual, please state to the Board of Admission a concise explanatiojn of your path towards medicine." Can someone explain to me what they mean by unusual? Also is it better to answer this part of the essay? The second question is, I dont see any where on the application where you state honors/publication/research experience, I have some honors/publication that I would like to list, where can I mention them? Thanks!!!

They must have updated their application, because it used to be that we were asked to write an essay during the interview.

I would use the essay to state why you are interested in medicine, and why you think SGU would be a good place for you--it would also be a nice place to put your honors and publications. It will be something you can talk about in your interview.

Good Luck!

When they say "unusual," they are tactfully (and politely) referring to an awful GPA or an awful academic period.

I was wondering if i should apply for the August semester. I graduate with my bachelors in January and am taking the MCAT in April. Will the test results make it in time for the deadline.
