I believe you only have space for listing 6 schools or something. You can allow additional schools to view your FAFSA if necessary, but that's extra paperwork and additional fees. Thus, list the 6 schools you are most likely to end up attending, which are usually schools you've already interviewed at. Obviously if you've already been accepted at a school and feel that you may end up going there you want to list that too.
I'm afraid I don't know what to say regarding the deferred situation, I think you'll have to call FAFSA to find out. I can't believe you've never filled one out! How did you get through college? 😛 (well maybe we weren't all as poor as I was)
