Hey guys-
I have a question that I have not seen adressed here before. I am curious if financial aid is still available if the particular residency has a tuition requirement associated with it. I am going to dental school and have been researching Oral Surgery programs and noticed a significant range of tuitions from nothing all the way up to $30,000. Just curious if financial aid is still a possibility during these programs. Thanks.

I have seen some lenders offer "alternate" type loans (ie, non-governmental) for residents. However, if you have tuition because of the OMS residency is unusual in that it charges tuition, you may be eligible for federal loans. Ask the FAO at the schools you are considering that offer the programs. They should be able to answer, because most people can't afford 30K on a resident's salary.
