Financial aid packages

When do financial aid packages generally come out? I'm assuming we have to file FAFSA and other aid forms (if applicable) first, so is it not until after January?

I think most come out in April. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Schools do it differently, but yes you have to file FAFSA. Some don't even offer scholarships to incoming students - just straight loans.
