financial aid question

I am going to serve in the Peace Corps before I start med school and I have some questions about financial aid. Since I will have to sell my car, my savings account is going to get several thousand dollars larger before I apply for financial aid. I will need to buy a car before school starts but I'm worried about the money. Will they require me to empty my savings account in the first year? I also have a 403(b) account from my job- will they require me to pay the penalty and empty that too? Thanks for any info.
