Hey guys and gals,

I have a question about financial aid in medical school. How does this work out regarding the amount you receive? Is it just like undergrad where you have a cap amount of like $2500 or is it more? And if that doesn't cover everything, when you get loans for medical school, what is the maximum amount you can borrow per year?

Thanks

The maximum stafford amount per year is $40,500. After that, you can get grad plus up to the cost of attendance set by your school. The CoA is like a budget.

...I thought max Stafford was $20,500...you should check with your school OP. The rest of your COA will have to be through GradPlus loans.

All amounts listed below are per year.

Max subsidized stafford --> $8,500
Max unsubsidized stafford for graduates --> $20,500
Max unsubsidized stafford for health professions --> $38,500

$%#** I hate applying for all this crap.
