Financing Med School?

After just recently being accepted, I now realize how expensive it really is to attend medical school. How do you all finance this? I am aware of the HPSP scholarships, NHSC as well, but I am not sure this is the route I would like to take. Are any of you on these scholarships? What do you think? I believe the Armed Forces is a great way to go, besides the fact that civilian residencies are difficult to obtain. For those of you taking out loans: how much is a realistic amount to borrow. At CCOM an estimated yearly expenditure is around 40K; 160K over four years. Honestly, how can one possibly manage this over a 10 year payback at 8% interest?
