You have 2.5 years for damage control. You will definitely need to step it up. As mentioned in other threads, class rank is more critical than GPA. GPA is entirely relative from school to school and from class to class in a given school. If you can make it into the top 20%, I see that as relatively safe territory for specializing. That’s not to say you can’t specialize outside of that, but you’ll need to stand out elsewhere. For endo, many, if not most, programs will expect to see postgrad experience - either private practice or GPR/AEGD. Pedo has definitely become more competitive as of late. If I remember correctly, pedo receives more applications than any other specialty.
