Hi all,

My friend is applying to Florida International University. There appear to be 2 questions with the same question:

1. Whether or not you will be a full-time student, please explain what you will be doing prior to your planned matriculation into medical school
2. If you have taken a gap year(s), please explain what you have been or will be doing since graduating from your undergraduate institution.

If she is taking one gap year, will her answer be the same for both prompts? Are we interpreting the questions incorrectly? It appears that these are both variations of the gap year prompt. Thanks.

Question 1 presumes you are currently a student who may or may not do a gap year before starting medical school next summer.
Question 2 presumes you have graduated and taken a gap year.

Yeah, they're pretty close to be repetitive, but the differences are subtle.

Sorry, still a bit confused! Since what she is doing before matriculating is the same thing she will be doing in her gap year, does she repeat the information then? Is it appropriate to just put N/A for the first prompt instead and focus on the upcoming gap year?

Question 1: what will you be doing during this application cycle?
Question 2: if you've already graduated from college, what have you been doing since then?
