Does anyone know about the Florida Board of Psychology licensure requirements. I was looking into a PsyD program through Capella University, and even though they meet the clinical and practical hours, they are not accredited by the APA. Does the school HAVE to be accredited from the APA in the state of FL in order to take the boards and obtain a license? I went on their website and read under Education requirements and it didn't mention anything about it....unless I overlooked it.

I believe there was a court case with Capella and licensing (I can't remember if it was FL or not), and ultimately the person did not get licensed. FL is definitely not one of the easier states to attain licensure. I'd put them up there with NY for their pickiness.

Don't do it.
