Florida College of Osteopathic Medicine?

I ran into some old links that talked about plans for this school to be created in 1998. Does anyone have any idea as to what happened to it and why it doesn't exist anymore? It's location was to be in Tarpon Springs, FL which is near Tampa. If anyone has any info please post.

My dad was telling me something about that; but he didn't say why it didn't go through. Probably lack of funding.

I heard about that when I was graduating from USF in 1997. It never came together. You would expect another school in FL would be a good idea considering the population of the state and the market for osteopathic medicine there. I was waitlisted when I applied to NOVA in 98. Came to TUCOM in California instead. Very happy I did.
