Florida Medical Association fighting overwhelming maintenance of certification programs

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
yeah, attendings are all about protecting their own financial interests and will fight aggressively to remove MOC, but when it comes to looking out for the next generation, you don't see anyone fighting for us to remove the stupid step 2 CS/level 2 PE that cost over a grand plus flight, hotel, etc. Most of the physicians fighting to remove MOC didnt even have to take the the CS/PE and many didnt need to take boards at all... but they are "grandfathered " in and doing perfectly fine. To physician leadership: how much more do you want us to do and how much less do you want to do?

Oh quit your whining.

If you want to reduce costs for medical students on a national level then get your representative group to push for changes. Don't complain when a state level organization representing physicians is doing just that. That's like complaining that EMRA or some other resident level organization isn't helping premed students with the cost of tuition

That's fair. I can see your point. Unfortunately, EMRA and the like aren't too interested in helping out on that front. Our student leaders dont really do anything proactive. They just kind of use the positions to pad their CVs. But you are right, at least you guys are pushing for change and trying to make progress, while I'm here whining on SDN haha
