ok fellow FL peeps, let's come back together. We are now experiencing the Florida shuffle and it is making me angry. That's right, everyone is shuffling between FL schools and the people who have not been accepted in-state are getting screwed. I just heard from a friend that he knows a girl who just got into UM off the waitlist with a full tuition scholarship but is going to UF instead for a change of scenery. 🙄 She was not on the UF alternate list.

I have noticed other shuffling going on as well. I think it sucks. I vote for the TX match system--there should be one in-state acceptance allowed to be fair to the others.

WTF?!! Someone got off of the UM waitlist? Wait till Papi hears this. Looks like they lied to him again. 😡 About the Florida shuffling, bring it on. Sorry Foxy, but I need for some major shuffling to occur. Namely, I need my butt to be accepted to UMiami. Then, USF can offer my seat to another Florida peep. Good luck with the UF situation, Foxy.

Could someone please explain what the Florida schools actually do? It definitely doesn't sound like the UC system.

Yeah, it's definitely shuffling....one of my good friends was accepted of the waitlist this week. Unfortunately for me (and UF!) they made her wait too long and she has chosen to go to USF instead. Bummer for me, but she'll probably be happier in Tampa knowing her! In any case, another spot is open here...keep your fingers crossed everyone! There are a LOT of empty spots on our "acceptance" board right now!

I called Miami yesterday and they told me that their deposit isn't due until next Friday and then within a few subsequent weeks from that point they will know who is going and who is staying. That is why she said the waitlist hasn't really moved yet. So I assume we will find out mid-June maybe.

Thanks for the info. Seems like UM is behind all of the other schools as usual. Will these people ever pick up the pace? 😡 Dank, how are you holding up? Have you gotten in at any school yet? If so, which one? Good luck.
