Hey all,
Are there others out there who are trained in family medicine, but have a strong interest in psychiatry/behavioral health? How did you go about getting further training in psych without doing another residency? I have not found many psych/behavioral health fellowships out there for family medicine physicians and I am interested in learning about what others have done in order to combine both fields in their practice. Thanks!

I think most family medicine programs have a lot of psych training. It's like 50% of outpatient medicine. I think you'd be pretty comfortable with outpatient psych at most family med programs.

Edit - I guess not 50%, but you get the idea.

My residency more than prepared me for what I encounter on a daily basis psychiatry wise. If I felt deficient, CME would be a good option.
