Under "experience" (page 5 of the CAF), next to the "supervisor" field, it says: "for research experience only". I assume this means that for nonresearch jobs, we should leave it blank.

But my question is: why??? I have a nonresearch job and would like to put down my supervisor's name and title.

Any opinions?

That's because the name of your lab supervisor can yield additional info regarding the subject and quality of your research experience that is not conveyed by your title within the lab. In contrast, most job titles are fairly self-explanatory.
