How do you guys feel about their MANDATORY attendance policy? Here's what Nova says: "At Nova Southeastern University - Health Professions Division, attendance at ALL scheduled instructional periods is MANDATORY. Failure to consider this requirement is considered in the evaluation of a student's academic performance and professional attitude and may result in a failing grade for the course. Students shall report to the office of the individual college's Office of Student Affairs in writing the reasons for all absences within 24 hours of each occurrence...." Wow, sounds like we're back to high school again! I personally think that kind of sucks!! I'm so used to skipping lectures for one course and go to the library and study for an upcoming exam for another course, but if I want Nova, I guess that I can't do that anymore!!! They also have a MANDATORY dress code which I'm cool about and have no problems with, but the MANDATORY attendance thing will be hard to get accustom to. Are any of you out there, at times, learn better on your own than going to lectures in certain courses like me? Wow, I think that I read about this about Nova on this forum, but now it's all coming to a reality! Something to consider if you're EXTREMELY interested in Nova for you dental education!
