For those of you who showed "marked improvement in your undergraduate academic performance" towards the end of your undergraduate career, have you done well in getting accepted to med schl? I'm talking high 3's, 4.0s. :scared:

Yes, an increasing trend is definitely taken into account. A 4.0-3.5-3.0 is much worse than a 3.0-3.5-4.0, and if you explain why your grades weren't as good earlier, you will have a good shot. Of course, you will still need a competitive cumulative GPA (>3.5).

my trend:

Freshman
3.0
3.0

Sophomore
3.0
3.0

Junior (decided to go for medicine and started caring about grades)
4.0
4.0
4.0 (summer)

Senior
4.0
4.0
4.0(summer)

Super Senior
4.0- then graduated in December

I got in but really only applied to my state school (kind of applied to another, but cut off my application for personal reasons).

Study hard, kick butt in classes, and you will be fine. You will also have a perfect topic to talk about in your AMCAS essay and at interviews. Everyone loves personal growth stories. :) :)

Good luck.

yup, improvement's key. for me, it was 3.2 my first two years and 3.7 my last two - overall was about a 3.45. Got into three schools thus far - not top 10's though. I didn't even break a 30 on the mcat's. Lots of research and ec's helps out too.

Courses taken at CC

Transfered to university and earned 4.0 junior year. As a microbio major these were all science classes including my orgo and physics. However, all they semed to care about was my low VR score. I have two schools left and will probably be reapplying next year.

i have a 3.2 overall but my last 70 hours are 3.6 and my science gpa is 3.44. im kinda sweating it though. i did some really dome thing my first couple of years in college. alot od it had to do with me being the first one in my fam to go to college but i didnt take advantage of the may resources available to me. ignorance i guess but i hope that my upward trend in my grades show the adcoms that i am on track now. that ive been on track for the past 2 years.
