For all of you that aren't in school and are applying this year, post what activities you are up to (jobs, research, etc):

I am teaching high school and volunteering at a hospital.
 
research at ucsf, medical aide at planned parenthood
 
Looking for work after 2 long road trips between Cincinnatti and Alaska, involving many mechanical mishaps.
 
i am also trying to relax and spend time with family.
applying for jobs at hospitals.
volunteering for hospice and court advocates.
volunteering at UCD Medical Center.
working with youth who make presentations on alcohol and tobacco.
 
I am currently in my year off while I apply. I've been doing oncology research and attending with my doctor in the hematology department. I've also been doing a lot of interview travelling and visiting my significant other across the state of PA.
 
I'm a Park Ranger.
 
financial analyst for federated dept. stores
 
I work at UCSF in a neuroscience research center for a bunch of PI's. Mostly office work. I'm taking it easy and enjoying free time while I have it. I'm going to start learning a new language or instrument soon. At least I keep telling myself that. ;)

(not really a "year off" though, I have been doing this for 3 years)
 
had a summer research job, but now i am painfully unemployed. jobs are very hard to come by in new york city since the terrorist attacks. oh well, i figure i'll be working hard enough next year, might as well read books and see films while i can.
 
-traveling (not as much as I'd like though w/ the recent events and all)

-taking 2 grad classes for "fun" (what can I say, I'm a nerd!)

-at night I park myself at a street corner and wait around for a Lotus to pick me up ;) ;)

-hoping that the rest of this "year off" (just finished a post-bac in May) will be MUCH more chill than the last 6 months
-seeing many movies (Bandits and Amelie were great) and training for a marathon that I'll be running in 12 days!
