For those that have taken the DAT, is this a good schedule?

I have to do research 2 days/wk in May.
In June I have the whole time for studying

and then I take the DAT July 1st.

Is that enough time? It's almost two months with some research in between? Should I put off the research??

I am so worried..😱

Should be enough. I started stusying around this time last year with a full time research job. Took day June 31. I applied in may tho. Apply before u take ur test!!!

That amount of time should be fine - just make the most of of your research days and take advantage of the ones you have off in May. Then kick it in to high gear in June and you should be good to go.

As long as you don't goof off and study every day.

I "studied" for 3 months but ACTUALLY studied for about 3 weeks. For those 3 weeks I did about 8 hour days and maybe 4-5 hours on the weekends. It was pretty intense and I only hung out with friends once a weekend and tried to relax and watch movies or something the rest of the time. It's worth it though! Just make sureyou leave enough time for practice tests--this will be really important in how you do on the exam. You need to practice time efficiency for RC and QR especially--but for the other sections as well. Also, leave tiem to review every question you answered right and wrong on the test. It does help. Get barron's biology study guide book to supplement kaplan if that is waht you are using.

Good luck!

Thanks guys, just freaking out a bit.

i took it in july (towards the end of july) but i submitted my app in like a wk after may15. and i was able to get my first interview by august. i had 7 other interviews all before December. so you should be fine. oh yea... i studied like an hour each day but didn't' really work till i actually studied my butt off for a week and pulled of a decent score.

I think its a good schedule. If you are applying for this coming up cycle make sure you finish up your application before you start studying for your DAT. Def. keep the research opportunity in your schedule cause its looks really good. Its just a matter of juggling your time here and there...but get your app out early and take your DAT before august.
