I have graduated from University of Birmingham, dentistry(BDS) program. And i want to practise in the US, is it necessary to take the Advanced Standing Program which can provide internationally trained dentist to pursue a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in the United States at an accelerated pace. Or just take a licensure exam?

You can't practice with a foreign degree in any state.
Most states offer an adv standing program , but there are states that offer the bench exam where you can pass the step 3 & 4 and practice in that state (eg california , hawaii).
