Hi there,
First of all thanx for all the great info that have been posted on this forum!
I'm a 4th year medical student in Italy (MedSchool is 6 years here).
Well actually i'm from Slovenia....but it's not important
I'm (obviously) intersted in EmergencyMedicine.
Last summer I was able to frequent an ER here in Slovenia and during this year I'm kinda working in the ER here at my MedSchool in Italy. So I was able to decide what I wanna do when I grow up!
I'm interested in an EM residency program in the USA (possibly NY).
In fact I'm first of all intersted in an elective...to actually see the difference between the USA and Europe and then decide.
So I have a few questions....if you don't mind helping.....
First:if there is someone who had a 6 year med school program......when did he(or she) decided to take the USMLE steps??
Second:Im looking for an elective in NY,but since it can be taken only during my 6th year I was thinking of asking to do a month as an observing student during the summer.....what hospitals in NY do you raccomand me,or better....in what hospitals do I have a chance to get accepted
