Foreign students in U.S. medical schools - any resources?

I was wondering if there were any resources / information for foreign students who have received their MD's from U.S. medical schools (or currently enrolled). In terms of residency applications - if they plan to stay in the U.S., are they faced with the same limitations as foreign trained physicians? Any information on the VISA sponsorship issue would also be helpful.
